Ten Terms

If you’re new to Lyme, you’ll probably want to familiarize yourself with some of the terms below. Many of them weren’t part of my daily vocabulary prior to my Lyme disease experience. I’ve provided a brief description on some of the terms, but I’d recommend a quick Google search to further familiarize yourself with some of the lingo.

Terms and Definitions

2 Diagnosis Western Blot Blood Test
3 Diagnosis Co-Infection: Lyme Disease often doesn’t act alone, and other infections may be present. Have your doctor check for other infections. Some common co-infections are listed below.
4 Diagnosis Ehrlichiosis, Babesia, Bartonella, Q fever, and Mycoplasma: Possible co-infection.
5 Diagnosis Candida: Candida overgrowth can be common with Lyme especially with heavy antibiotic use.
